Site Tour

Welcome to the new look ABTT web site

We hope that you will find this new site a lot easier to find you way around, and easier to use the new features in it.

Some sections have disappeared in the short term, in particular the product database, and the ABTT library listings. If you miss these section, let us know, and we'll consider re-instating them into this new service.

Some sections have been totally re-written, in particular the news and diary sections, and the Industry Supporters Group (ISG) members and ISG News sections are totally new. We hope that you will find the product announcements by the ISG members useful. The ISG members help to promote the ABTT aims. We hope that you will consider using their services when appropriate.

Registration for the new site

In order to register with the site, you will only need to provide a valid email address. Registered users may use almost all of the sections of the forum, except for the Safety section. However, in order to see the full functionality of the site, or to be able to submit items of news, freelancers information and to participate in the safety section of the forum, you will need to be upgraded to "member" or "full-member" status. To get upgraded, first register as a user on the site, then send an email to moderators@abtt.org.uk or via the Contact Form page. Make sure that you include your username, Full Name and ABTT Membership number, and we will upgrade your access permissions within 24 hours.

So what's new?

For members, the Guidance notes, and some Safety Matters articles have been converted to PDF format, and are now available for download and local printing.

Much more information than was previously available is now in the Committees section. We hope that all the ABTT committees and working groups will use these sections to publicise their activities to a wider audience.

The Jobs section is now much more interactive, with any member being able to post a job (but don't forget that this is a "paid-for" service!)

The training section has been streamlined, with a full list of courses in the training section. Dates of courses being run will appear in the Diary section.

The redesigned Theatre's Technical Information Section has had a make-over, also making it much easier to create new enties, and update existing entries. All passwords have been carried over from the old site, so you already know the passwords to update your entries. We've also added an audit section to log who has updated the entry last. This information is also displayed, so you know who to ask for the current password!

All Full Members are now eligible to enter themselves on our Freelancers section. Now that this section has a much higher visibility, and an easier interface we hope that many more of you will enter your details.

The Links section has been updated, and converted into a database. Once again, all members can add links to the database, although these will be checked by a moderator before being authorised and made available on the site.

The FAQ section has been moved over from the previous site, and has been trimmed down to remove duplicates and out-of-date information. We will be striving to keep the FAQ relevant, by constantly monitoring the data held there.

Finally, the whole site is now searchable using the Search Option at the bottom of the navigation bar.
